I got a completely different item than what I ordered and paid for. I got something that has been superseded by the manufacturer. I could have gotten what they sent me for half the price anywhere. Called them, the answer: Oh, we are out of the one you ordered, but we can give you $5 refund. Still way too exensive. I questioned them to reimburse me everything, including shipping…But just sent me a mark to return the item. Their policy: Shipping charges are on you. Tried to call them again, their phone is not the same anymore. Amazon used to be my best source…not anymore since they are using all kind of unreputable vendors.

I bought this item 2 days ago at Best Buys for 50.99. It was the only universal FM transmitter they had available. I have it attached to my iAudio 7 by Cowon which is a very excellent mp3 player. The sound through my factory Honda radio is very weak and ridden with static. I found myself having to drape the cord up by the dash in order to get the best reception on my radio.
I also had the same problem others report with the original iTrip Universal Transmitter, that’s the inability to set the transmitter to the lower frequencies. I plot to try out the trick were you hold the + and – button for 15 seconds to set it to international mode (not sure if this one will work also) so I can set it to 88.7 where hopefully there will be less static.
I plot to return this and replace it with an 18 dollar unit that I saw available through Amazon.

The power output of this device is suboptimal; my antennea is outdoors toward the back. It does not cover frequency 87.9. The autoseek is worthless. It does seem to work better in mono rather than stereo.

This device not only turns your car radio into a MP3 player using FM radio channels not being used for broadcasting by local radio stations. With a press of a button you can find a clear channel which is perfect for those long road trips. Worth every penny!

The FM transmitter is better than most of the ones I have tried. The smart scan is a nice feature. Unfortunately the USB port does not charge my Moto Droid.
